A major goal for the American Education Corporation (AEC) is to demonstrate
scientifically that our educational products effectively improve educational outcomes.
This scientific-based question asks us, “What works, with what kids, under what
circumstance (Whitehurst, 2002)?” What this means is that we cannot merely ask, “Does
A+LS™ courseware work?” We must investigate how it works in real schools, with real
students, in the real classroom. So, AEC’s ongoing scientific research efforts require us to
work with educators to find effective implementation strategies based on specific school use of the A+LS courseware. To help us achieve this goal we invite your school to
participate in our research efforts. This program not only allows AEC to improve our
product, but more importantly to you, allows your school to take advantage of all of
A+LS features and benefits. Additionally, you will be helping the education community
in general. The results of our studies are always publicly posted for all to see on our
website.
Benefits for your School:
Schools that participate in research studies not only gain
information that directly benefits their own schools and education in general, but they
also receive free A+LS courseware titles, research implementation support, and shared
authorship in the research study! Free titles are offered as incentives for participating in
the research and are offered on first-come, first-served basis. Please understand that AEC
reserves the right to offer individual schools participation in any of our ongoing research
studies. Student data will be kept strictly confidential and otherwise treated according to
the FERPA requirements.
How to participate:
If you are interested in learning more about this exciting
opportunity to advance the scientific understanding of education while earning free A+ courseware to benefit your school, please contact the AEC Research Department. Please include in your email your
school name, city and state, approximate enrollment, and indicate whether you are
already an A+LS courseware user or intend to become a user. Include any research questions
you are interested in exploring but note that your school does not need to have a specific
research question in mind to apply for this program.
