System Requirements for Client-Server Version           


In the A+LS Client-Server version, an A+LS™ Client application is installed on all workstations accessing the system. Server-side applications and databases are also installed on the server, either at the customer’s site (LAN or WAN) or at AEC’s Tier 1 Data Center (Client-Server Online Version). The platform of the workstations and the platform of the server do not have to match, provided the network operating system can support the configuration deployed. For example, A+LS server applications running on a Macintosh server can host A+LS client applications running on Windows workstations, A+LS server applications running on a Windows server can host A+LS client applications running on Macintosh workstations, etc.

Minimum Requirements for Client Machines

Windows 2000 Professional with SP4, Windows XP Professional and the latest service pack, Windows Vista with SP1:
null Processor Speed: IBM-compatible processor 333 MHz or faster
null Memory: 128 MB or more
null Other: Java 1.4.1 (installed with product)
 
SUSE Linux 10:
null Processor Speed: IBM-compatible processor 333 MHz or faster
null Memory: 512 MB or more
null Other: Java 1.4.1 (installed with product); KDE GUI
 
Macintosh OS 10.4.x and Macintosh OS 10.5.4.x:
null Processor Speed: 1 GHz Macintosh G4 or Intel Mac
null Memory: 256 MB or more
null Other: Java 1.4.2 or 1.4.5

Windows 2000 Server SP2, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server : This installer can also support Macintosh OS X, NetWare® 6, and some versions of Linux and Solaris™, please consult those manuals for detailed instructions.

On-Line Connection Speeds - if the connection between the Client and the Server is being done over the Internet (including hosting by AEC), it is recommended that all Clients have broadband or better for a single-user. The equivalent of 1.5 MBPS or faster is recommended for multiple-user configurations up to 20 simultaneous connections.
